Fine Kazak Oriental Rug Ref 6272
Super fine kazak rugs are traditionally hand woven by settled Armenians as well as nomadic kurds, Georgians, Azerbaijanis and Hazara tribes (this tribe is settles presently in Persia). The town Kazak is actually located in Azerbaijan. Kazak is a modern shape of old caucasian rugs which firmly adheres to the traditional design elements of the Caucasus. The handspun yarn is made using Ghanzi wool. Almost all of the dyes are made using herbs. There are many design influences and consequently a large variety of motifs, medallions, hooked polygons, diamonds and geometric shapes. The ability of the Caucasian weaver to use dramatic colours and patterns is unrivalled in the rug weaving world.
